We are now two seasons into Wednesday, the Tim Burton-produced show that takes the surprisingly bold step of asking, “What if the Addams Family wasn’t funny?” Over those two seasons, Wednesday has amassed an army of ardent fans, including my two daughters (8 and 10), who both think Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams is the coolest person to have ever (un)lived. And who am I to argue?
To give them their own sense of Wednesday style, we tested out three pairs of Wednesday-themed sunglasses — one from Diff, and two from Dime. Here’s how it went.

The Unboxing
Both brands sent their test samples in full packaging, with each pair arriving in a suitably Wednesday-ish box — Nevermore Academy logo-themed for Diff, and bold black and purple stripes for Dime. Inside, the Diff pair came with a Wednesday-logo’d hard case, while both Dime pairs had similarly-decorated soft cases.
The Design
For me, these are an ideal piece of spin-off merch, in that while they’re clearly intended for fans of the show, they could be worn by anyone with a goth flair. Diff’s Wednesday Addams sunglasses in particular keep the branding subtle: The chic, all-black frame has the Wednesday logo minutely inscribed on one outer arm, and the neat white accents on the end of each arm feature the Nevermore crest. Inside one arm, it reads simply, “I’m allergic to color.”
Diff clearly isn’t totally allergic to color, however, as there are more glasses in their Wednesday range: You can pick up the Bianca Barclay (blue, with shiny silver frames), the Marilyn Thornhill (blue with silver frames and gray gradient lenses), or the Enid Sinclair (pink and orange, with pink lenses). All seem thoughtfully designed, and fully in line with their TV character counterparts.
The Dime glasses are a little less stylish and, with a much lower pricepoint, probably more appropriate for younger kids prone to “misplacing” things. Dime’s Wednesday Addams sunglasses are an eye-catching, high contrast black and white checkerboard design (which seems more 1960s to me), while their Nevermore Academy sunglasses are a more subtle black, switching to black and gray vertical stripes, with the Nevermore logo in white on one arm. While I personally prefer the latter pair, my eight-year-old loved the black and white pair, and rocked them for the entirety of a two-day music festival on the beach.
The Experience
All three sets of glasses feature fun designs and are well constructed. The arm hinges are neither too loose nor too stiff, and the lenses all offer 100% UV protection (in Dime’s case, the lenses are also polarized). My wife (who already owns at least one other pair of Diff sunglasses) was genuinely excited about the Diff pair, although my ten-year-old laid claim to them pretty quickly (while promising to share…we shall see!)

The End Result
If you’re a fan of Wednesday, there’s almost certainly something from either Diff or Dime’s range that you’ll want to try, whether it’s the chic simplicity of Diff’s Wednesday Addams, or Dime’s more involved, but still fun Nevermore Academy. Of course, any real Wednesday fan wouldn’t be caught dead outdoors in full sunlight in the first place, but you can always wear them indoors — ideally with the lights off.
