Most people don’t get as excited about suitcases as I do, and that’s completely understandable. From the eyes of an infrequent traveler, a luggage set is simply a box to hold your belongings as you make it from point A to point B. I’ve been impressed with Delsey Paris pieces in the past, so I had high hopes, but with a price tag over $300, I figured it would need to really impress to make it worthwhile. Cheap vs. Quality Luggage
Throughout my years of trying out many luggage brands, I can instantly tell when a piece is quality vs. cheap. Sometimes, it’s not about the price tag or the label but about the construction.
Right when unboxing the Delsey Paris Cadence Luggage, I could tell this is a sturdy, high-quality piece. The zippers slide smoothly and the expandable part has its own zipper. The sleek exterior of this suitcase says sophisticated and stylish, rather than your average suitcase you can find at Costco. Other Delsey Paris pieces I’ve tried haven’t come with the little luggage tag either, so this was a nice touch.
In some cases, you pay for a name and it’s overpriced (ultimately the same quality you can find elsewhere). In the case of Delsey Paris, however, I do believe these bags are extremely well-made. I have another Delsey Paris bag that I’ve used on over 40 trips over the last four years and it still looks almost as good as when I took it out the box.
One note: With any hardsided luggage, you’ll need to wipe it down in between uses. I like to use a Magic Eraser to remove scuffs that occur from baggage carousels.

Who Should Buy Delsey Paris Cadence Luggage?
If you’re someone who only travels once or twice per year, you probably don’t need to splurge on a suitcase this expensive. However, if you’re looking for a quality suitcase that will last you years, the Delsey Paris Cadence is worth the splurge.
At 28 inches, this is a large suitcase, designed for the traveler who frequently take trips over seven days. When I travel, I love to take my pillow along in the backside zippered pouch. I also like that it comes with a little shoe bag and a laundry bag to keep things organized as you travel. When you’re all done packing, use the interior straps to ensure everything stays in place when tossed around at the airport.
Expandability is a Must
If you’re purchasing a suitcase of this size (28 inches or bigger), chances are you need a lot of space or are going on a long adventure. The expandable nature of this suitcase, which provides an additional 1.25 inches of space, is great for ensuring you can fit in everything you brought (plus a little extra room for shopping). Many bags of this size do not have this feature, which to me, just doesn’t seem smart.
Luggage that has an expandable section means one extra zipper that could potentially break. For that reason, I noticed the quality zippers on this suitcase (Delsey Paris patented Zip Securitech zipper). As a chronic overpacker, I always worry about my zippers breaking while I’m away from home. With this suitcase, these worries were eased.

If this is you, I believe this suitcase is a great investment and a handy travel companion that should last you for dozens of trips. The casual traveler doesn’t need to spend this much for an occasional-use suitcase, but as a frequent traveler, the features of this piece, such as its expandable nature and the large, 28-inch size, make this worth the splurge.
