Still, my overall impression was that it was easily something you’d expect to find in a gourmet bakery.

Next up was the Cosmic Forest™ Cookie, which was jam-packed with moistness and flavor. Like the brownie, it leaned heavily into chocolate, with an even more noticeable bitter aftertaste. The aftertaste reminded me a little of the Fiber One brownies I sometimes have for breakfast, but without the dry, bland flavors you get with grocery store options.

This cookie tasted more like a brownie to me, but that could be because I normally associate chocolate with brownies and other flavors with cookies. But chocolate lovers like me know that you can call it whatever you want as long as it’s yummy!

Hazelnut Crunch Brownie

Next up was the hazelnut brownie. If you lean toward nutty flavors versus chocolate, this will probably be your favorite.

As with the chocolate options, this brownie was rich — and very nut-forward. The crunch added texture, but for me, it wasn’t as enjoyable as the chocolate options. Then again, I fully admit I’m a chocoholic, so if you’re more into hazelnuts, this could very well be your favorite.

Choc Chip N°5™ Cookie

My personal favorite turned out to be the Choc Chip N°5™ Cookie. It struck the perfect balance between being lightweight and rich. As with the others, it was moist and flavorful, but I didn’t get the bitter aftertaste that I experienced with Lexington Bakes’ chocolate-dominant treats.

As for the taste, it was a cross between a brownie and a chocolate chip cookie (a.k.a., “brookie”). If I were to go back for more, I’d load up on this one.

My Overall Impressions

The chocolate base in a couple of the treats did have a slightly bitter edge, and that could be an issue for some. If you’re a person who likes pure dark chocolate, the bitterness probably won’t even be noticeable, but I’m more of a super-sweet chocolate lover!

Portion Size

At first glance, each square might not look like a full dessert, but the second you lift it out of the box, you’ll change your mind. These treats are heavy and rich. As my husband always says, you’ll need a full glass of milk to wash down every bite.

I could only handle half of a treat at once, and even that was pushing it. You’d probably be just as happy splitting each square into fourths and eating them separately. That can help you stretch each box out for a week or longer.
