Meet Scanner. Yes, our kids named it. Scanner is the 3i G10+ Robot Vacuum with UltraReachTM Mop — and we love it. I’ve tried a lot of floor cleaning tools over the years, from very basic Dirt Devil vacuums, spin mops, and brooms to the Narwal S20 Pro, an upright vacuum, and a Swiffer WetJet, so when I got the opportunity to test the 3i G10+ Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo, I jumped at the chance.
I aim to clean the floors at least once a week, and typically this means getting everything picked up off the floor, pulling out the upright, plugging it in, vacuuming the hard floors, switching outlets and vacuuming the carpet, wrapping up the cord, and completing the job with the Swiffer WetJet. While this is obviously manageable, it takes quite a while to go through the whole process.
The first time the G10+ ran, I literally sat at my desk and wrote an article. I got to work while my floors got cleaned. It was fantastic! Since that first run, I’ve become more acquainted with the G10+’s features, and it’s become more acquainted with our home. The kids immediately named it, and now it’s simply referred to as Scanner.
Scanner runs about twice a week, but I’ll go into the details of how we use it below. Overall, having this robot has significantly cut down on the time I spend cleaning the floors, and I genuinely love that we welcomed it into our family. While I did receive this product as a sample, all opinions in this review are mine.

As this is my first robot vacuum mop, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I opened the box, but everything was really easy to set up. The G10+ has a lot to offer, including the following features.
UltraReachTM Side Brush and Anti-Tangle Brushes
The UltraReachTM side brush extends from the vacuum and rotates as it cleans to sweep dust and debris from the edges and corners of the room. The side brush and the roller brush are both anti-tangle, and thus far, they have lived up to that promise.
A Variety of Cleaning Modes, Suction Power, and Water Level
The G10+ has five available cleaning modes to choose from: Vac & Mop, Vacuum, Mop, AI Auto, and Custom. I use a combination of the Vacuum and Vac & Mop modes for everything I’ve done so far. I did try the AI Auto mode once, but I’m not sure how much of a difference it made. Suction Power includes Quiet, Medium, Strong, and Max, and it will adjust suction power automatically based on the amount of dirt.
Zoned Cleaning
The zoned cleaning feature allows you to choose where you want the robot vacuum mop to go and how you want it cleaned. Often, I’ll run it at separate times for different areas. Our kitchen, dining room, living room, and laundry room are all hard floors, so we’ll do a clean up of these areas and run the G10+ on Vac & Mop mode. Then the next day, we’ll clean up the carpeted areas, and I’ll run it on Vacuum mode.
You can also draw a box on the digital map and send the vacuum wherever you want it to go. I don’t use this feature much since I figure if it’s going to run, it might as well run everywhere. But I did test it when my niece and nephew were over and wanted to see it in action. After you place the box, the robot vacuum will position itself and head right to the cleaning zone, do its work, and then head back to the base.
Smart DirtScanTM
To be honest, I don’t pay a lot of attention to Scanner once it starts, which is largely due to the DirtScanTM feature. This allows it to mop an area a few times for stubborn stains or increase suction if it detects large debris. I haven’t noticed it ever leaving any dirt or stains behind, so it must work!
A Robust App
The 3i app lets you do everything you need to do to run the G10+. To start cleaning, all you have to do is open the app and click “Enter.” From there, you can choose your cleaning settings. It also gives information on the device consumables, basically how much life there is in the dustbin filter, mop, main brush, and side brush. And you can set up schedules to keep your cleaning on a routine
Additional Features
Beyond the features that I’ve tested, the G10+ offers even more features to keep your home clean and protect your family.
- Pet snapshots: You can take a picture of your pets while the vacuum is running. The website says that you can see what your pets are up to, anytime, anywhere. So I’m not sure if it finds the pet or waits for it to come in front of the camera.
- Pet avoidance: The robot will stay away from your pets.
- Compatible with Alexa and Google: Honestly, I haven’t tested this feature because the app is so easy to use, but it can pair with your smart home device, and all you have to do is tell it to start vacuuming.

Getting Started with the G10+
Setting up the G10+ was pretty easy. The only thing I struggled with was connecting it to the Wi-Fi, but only because I didn’t reset mine properly the first time. Once I got the robot mop vac connected to the Wi-Fi, I started the mapping feature, and it mapped the house. There’s a 3D map on the app, and it shows where the robot is in the house and what areas it’s already covered.
I noticed that it also updates the map the more it runs. So what was a very basic map in the beginning now shows things like beds, couches, and tables. The original map also had the hallway, living room, and dining room as one room, but after cleaning a few times, each room is now labeled separately. It also labels the rooms for you. I’m guessing because it analyzes the items in the room, like a bed or couch, and labels the room accordingly.
What I Love
To say this little robot is a great cleaning tool is an understatement. I genuinely feel like it gives me some time back in my day, and the house stays clean.
The Base is Small
The G10+ base is really small. It stands just 3.8 inches high and is less than half the width of the robot. When the robot’s running, you hardly notice the base at all, and it just tucks up against the wall. I’ve seen other robot mop vacs with larger bases, which do typically have other features, like self-emptying, but I like that this base is small and inconspicuous.
The Dust Compression Feature
In the few months that I’ve been using this robot mop vac, I’ve only emptied the dust bin once. I can confirm that the dust was tightly compacted thanks to the onboard auto debris compression that the vacuum offers. When I use my regular vacuum, I typically empty the dust bin after every use or after every two uses at most. The G10+ has vacuumed the whole house more than 15 times since I started using it! The voice alert notified me that it was time to empty the dust bin, and it also announces when the water tank needs to be refilled.
The Floors Are Actually Clean
This is the first robot mop vac that I’ve used, and I’m really impressed by how the floors look when it’s done. To help it out, I put all of the chairs up, and I think that saves it some time and allows it to cover more space if it’s not avoiding all of the chair legs. But other than that, I make sure the floors are tidy, choose the cleaning options I want in the app, and hit start. I typically run it during the day while I’m working, and it’s a great feeling to be typing away and know that the floors are getting cleaned.
The Light Helps It “See” and Be Seen
It has its own light that comes on when it runs in dark areas. While I’m sure this has some tech-y purpose that lets it sense dirt and objects, I like it because we can tell where it is and no one will trip on it if they’re moving through the area too.
The Anti-Tangle Brushes Work
I have long dark hair, and between me and our two daughters, there’s a lot of hair laying around. I’m always skeptical when brushes say they’re “anti-tangle,” but in this case, it’s true. There is zero hair tangled around the brush of the G10+ even after lots of use. After a few uses of my upright vacuum, I have to cut the hair out of the brush, so I’m very impressed that this isn’t an issue at all with the robot mop.
The Kids Clean Better
This is a very niche pro, but when the kids know Scanner is going to be running, they make more of an effort to get everything picked up off the floor. The stakes are a little higher than just “we need to clean the house” because, as you’ll see below, the robot vacuum does suck up certain items off the floor.
What I Don’t Love
There is a lot to love about the G10+, but there are a few things I haven’t loved that are important to consider as well.
It Doesn’t Avoid Everything
The G10+ is really good at avoiding obstacles, but it will still bump into things around the house, mostly chair and table legs. It will also pick up smaller objects like socks and paper, and I have to remove the roller brush in order to take them out. I will say that this isn’t the worst thing because I make sure the kids are around and make a very big deal about getting items out of the vacuum — kindly, of course. That means they are on high alert when Scanner is running and do their best to make sure everything is picked up off of the floor.
It Doesn’t Use a Cleaning Solution
The G10+ doesn’t use any cleaning solutions, so really it’s just mopping with water. Honestly, though, I don’t notice the floor being any less clean as a result. I’ll typically vacuum with an upright vacuum and mop with a Swiffer WetJet every two weeks or so, and I think that takes care of anything that might be built up. But again, I don’t really notice a difference.

Can I Live Without the 3i G10+? Yes, but I’m Not Sure I Want To
I’m pretty frugal, so this isn’t necessarily something that I would buy for myself. At least not until the house is paid off. But I will say that I would very much miss this vacuum. It costs around $450, though there’s an exclusive Prime Member Price of $349.99 (I’m not sure if this is forever or just for now), so it’s an investment, but one that’s worth it to clean the floors without lifting a finger.
