Your dog will love the large windows for viewing the area from the beds and kids love climbing on to the window seat for a more direct viewing point.

The Aloft hotel is a moderate-sized, pet-friendly hotel minutes from Cherry Hill, New Jersey and 10 miles from Philadelphia. You have a chose of two steakhouses with different price points by choosing the hotel restaurant or the adjoining restaurant.
Pros
- Convenient for Philly and eastern suburbs. You can get to Philadelphia in half an hour.
- The rooms are set up well with the large windows being a centerpiece.
- A decent-sized gym with a range of dumbell sizes.
- Aloft Hotels always have fun decor. For this Aloft, I’m a fan of the fireplace in the center of the back wall of the lobby
- Extra dog friendly. The front desk said hello to Woof Woof whenver he walked by.
Cons
- If you’re going to Philly, there are places to stay that are closer to the city. Map out the area to see what’s closest to where you need to be.
- You can’t walk across the street, unless you’ve always wanted to try Frogger, the real life edition. There are don’t walk signs
- It doesn’t have a pool.
What Was My Review Experience Like at the Aloft Hotel Mount Laurel?
My favorite part of staying at Aloft Mount Laurel was the greeting my dog got when we arrived. A housekeeping staff member immediately bent down and started petting him. She welcomed him to the hotel in the warmest way possible.
Aloft hotels, in my opinion, always have a fun vibe. There’s always a pool table downstairs and this hotel had a beautiful fireplace in the center. There’s also a bar that serves food and will happily serve your pup in the bar / lobby area. There’s a steakhouse connected and a restaurant on the other side next to the hotel with lunch specials under $10.

For those obsessed with Wawa subs, you have something in common with Woof Woof. His favorite and mine is the Italian sub on whole wheat, hold the onions. It’s a 15-minute walk from the hotel or less than a mile drive.
I wouldn’t recommend walking much further. Trying to cross the street to the Walmart was a game of Frogger. So much so that I debating calling an Uber on my return. That particular intersection has a don’t walk sign.
We were visiting a friend who lives nearby and exploring. To get to the Aloft, we took the New Jersey transit train from New York City to Hamilton, then my friend picked us up. It’s roughly a 30-minute drive from the station. It would have been a $50 Uber ride from Hamilton. If you are driving in, parking is free. Philadelphia’s Amtrak station is abotu 10 miles away.
The one-king and two-queen standard executive rooms offers mobility accessible rooms with tubs or roll-in showers. Executive king rooms may have Executive two-queen rooms may offer hearing accessible features with “visual alarms and notification devices for door and phone.”
In My Expert Opinion
I stayed at the Aloft Mount Laurel on a hosted stay as a travel writer. Getting a comped room doesn’t affect my reviews, as I’ve written about travel for over a decade for a variety of outlets. I would stay at the Aloft again and have stayed at different locations both as a journalist and when paying for travel on my own.
Aloft Mount Laurel is a super friendly hotel with dining options. The hotel bar and lobby also serves people and pets ordering from the restaurant. While the rooms are small, the large windows make you feel like you’re in a much bigger space.
If you need a pet-friendly option in the New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia with dining for your family and pup in the lobby, this could be your spot.
