With so many different luggage brands and styles on the market, it’s tough to choose a favorite. When shopping for luggage, wheels are a key feature I always look for. One of the first things I noticed when checking out the Bagsmart Getaway Luggage Set is how easy the wheels glide.
Almost every luggage product description in the world says “smooth glide wheels,” but that doesn’t always hold. As it turns out, Bagsmart wasn’t lying about just how easy the wheels on this luggage set glide. I’ve been a fan of Bagsmart’s hanging makeup bags for years, but this is the first time I’ve ever tried their luggage. Here’s what I found most noteworthy about this duo, which includes both a carry-on size and a 26-inch checked bag.

GlideTech Wheels
From a visual standpoint, the wheels don’t seem like they have much special to them. After all, wheels are wheels … right? The magic of these wheels is hidden behind them, featuring an upgraded, impact-resistant wheel seat that keeps the luggage rolling smoothly and maintains stability.
I was immediately impressed with how well the wheels on both sizes rolled and absorbed shock. Of course, you can also spin them 360 degrees, allowing you to easily navigate crowded airports. This might not seem like something you care too much about, but I assure you that when it comes to your travel day, you’ll be glad to have a set that rolls as easily as this.
TSA-Approved Lock System
Having a TSA-approved built-in lock on both the carry-on and checked bag is a nice feature. These days in age, you can never be too careful when traveling. I tried the lock through TSA and had no issues. Even if you’re not traveling with anything very valuable, I think it’s still worthwhile to keep your bag locked wherever you go.

Expandability
Bagsmart describes the Getaway Luggage set as one for the type of traveler who “might need five outfits,” and I agree. The expandable design and lightweight construction make it easy to overpack (even if that’s not a good idea).
With the expandable zipper on both suitcases, you get up to 20% more volume (perfect for those times when you want to jam pack your luggage). Although I’ve gotten way better at overpacking over the years, I still like knowing I have a bit of extra wiggle room if I buy something bulky when traveling. It’s never a good feeling when you don’t know if your suitcase will close.

In My Expert Opinion
Overall, Bagsmart is a great brand when it comes to all things bags (hence the name), and this includes luggage. After trying the Getaway luggage set, I’m pretty impressed with these suitcases. I found traveling with them to be smooth and easy. The best feature of this set is the GlideTech wheels, making it really easy to roll through the airport with no snags.
Comparable luggage sets I’ve tried are at least 30% to 40% more expensive and offer the same features as this set. With that in mind, I think this is an excellent value for a wide array of travelers.
Given the medium size of this checked bag, I would recommend this set for the traveler who frequently goes on trips up to seven days. For anything longer than 7 days, you may find you prefer a larger, 28-29″ checked size instead.
I also appreciate that Bagsmart offers a 100-day return policy, allowing you to put the luggage to the test and still return it if you decide it doesn’t meet your standards. However, I feel the Bagsmart Getaway set will meet the needs of most travelers and has many great features you don’t find in ultra-budget suitcase options.
