I wasn’t quite sold on the Caraa Stratus Backpack until it arrived — which quickly changed my viewpoint on it. For a travel backpack, there’s no question that $320 is a splurge, but I believe it’s a splurge worth taking.
If you’re a regular traveler (and someone who travels with your MacBook), here’s why I think the Stratus backpack is the companion you didn’t know you needed. Once I got home from just one trip using this backpack, I said goodbye to my other travel backpacks.

When I first unboxed this backpack, I was thrilled to see that an extra storage bag was included. While the brand describes this as a pouch for wet items or shoes, it can be used for anything you want while traveling.
If you’re only packing a personal item, using this for shoes would make sense to keep them separate from the clothes you’re adding to the backpack. In my case, I used this pouch to store a rain jacket.
The Trolley Sleeve
You would think every backpack should have a trolley sleeve, but remember, not all backpacks are made for travel. One thing I love about the Caraa Stratus Backpack is the trolley sleeve, which makes rolling through the airport a breeze.
In addition to the trolley sleeve, there is also a hidden zippered pouch above (shown in the picture), which is ideal for concealing small valuables that you want to keep close to your body. If it’s facing you, it’s less likely to be stolen. I’d recommend dropping your car keys in this secret pouch. The brand recommends using this for your passport, which also makes sense.

Front and Back Main Pouches
In the front pouch of your Caraa Stratus Backpack, you’ll find a main compartment with lots of internal organization zippers. I’ve never seen a travel backpack set up like this. I love how everything stays organized well here (and I’m never scrambling to find my headphones in the middle seat of an economy flight). Everything has an easily-accessible home within this backpack — from your gum to your earplugs.
The back pouch is supposed to be your dedicated laptop sleeve. The large version of this backpack can hold up to a 17-inch laptop. The medium can hold up to a 15-inch laptop.

Final Thoughts
Is there a backpack that could meet the exact same needs as this one out there? Probably. Am I still glad to have tried the Caraa Stratus Backpack? Yes, I am. While there may be other travel backpacks with similar styles or features, I think the quality of this backpack is where its value shines.
This type of luxury travel backpack is excellent for those who want to invest in something that can handle the wear and tear of regular travel. As I continue to travel to more places, I look forward to seeing just how well this backpack holds up. The nylon casing of this backpack sets it apart from other backpacks I’ve had in the past.
Plus, I appreciate the sleek, minimalistic profile of this backpack. The pictures on the website make it appear shinier than it is in real life, so don’t be deterred by that. The Caraa Stratus Backpack is a great option if you prefer a classic, streamlined design that complements any airport outfit. While it’s possible there’s something better out there, I haven’t come across a better travel backpack yet (and I’ve tried quite a few).
