Another thing that was immediately obvious is that Cozy Earth’s products come in a variety of colors and patterns, and all bedding products can easily be color coordinated. So, when you choose a comforter, duvet cover, sheets, pillow cases, pillows and blankets, it’s easy to create a bedroom with an appearance that resembles a five-star hotel.
Sure, appearance and quality are important when it comes to bedding, but what really matters is comfort. When the folks at Cozy Earth provided me with their bestselling, queen-size Bamboo Viscose Comforter ($388) and Baja stripe in Laurel Bamboo Duvet Cover ($308) to review, I was excited to see just how comfortable this combination could be, especially since I have been using the company’s Bamboo Sheet Set ($308) on my bed for more than two years.

The very first thing I noticed when I opened the packages the comforter and duvet cover came in was the incredible softness of the material. Both products are well made and extremely soft and silky smooth to the touch. The big question is: Are these Cozy Earth bedding products worth their premium prices? Based on my testing, the answer is unequivocally yes.
Viscose is moisture-wicking, breathable, temperature-regulating, eco-friendly, hypoallergenic, antimicrobial, odor-resistant and durable. These are qualities cotton and white goose down fill do not offer. I Experienced A Good Night’s Sleep, And You Will Too
Once the comforter and duvet cover arrived, I chose to launder the duvet cover first, before placing it on the comforter. As expected the material held up perfectly after the first wash. I did notice, however, that while the material is smooth and ultra-soft, it is not wrinkle-resistant. If this is something you care about, consider ironing or steaming the duvet cover before placing it on your bed.
Unlike other duvet covers and comforters I’ve used in the past, this combo is designed to be used together. The sizing of both the comforter and duvet cover are slightly larger than a traditional twin, queen/full or kind size, so the comforter nicely drapes over the edges of a bed.
To keep the comforter snug within the duvet cover, the cover relies on a small plastic zipper that extends almost entirely across the bottom. This zipper is virtually invisible once it’s closed, but it’s made from plastic (not metal), so it does not appear as durable as the duvet cover’s viscose fabric. It was easier to close the zipper by pulling the zipper pull at a slow and steady pace while making sure the edge of the comforter did not get caught.
To keep the comforter from bunching up and moving around within the duvet cover, the duvet cover has sewn in interior snap closures that manually attach to the loops that surround the outside edge of the comforter. Connecting the closures with the loops adds a few extra minutes to the process of placing the duvet cover over the comforter, but the end result is added comfort when you’re sleeping under the comforter.
One thing to keep in mind is that because the five stripe patterns the duvet cover comes in mixes white with the colored strips, dirt shows up more profoundly than if you choose a solid color that’s darker (like the walnut, dove grey, or pacific blue option). I discovered this when my dog jumped up onto the bed to sleep after being walked outside. (On the other hand, she also found the comforter and duvet cover to be very comfortable.)
The “Standard” fill version of the Cozy Earth Bamboo Viscose Comforter is thinner than a traditional down-filled comforter. The filling is made from 100 percent viscose, just like the outer fabric. This means it’s temperature-regulating, hypoallergenic and designed to provide the perfect amount of warmth throughout the year.
In fact, after two weeks of sleeping with the comforter and duvet cover, I found its weight and thickness to be just right. And the box pattern stitching that’s used on the comforter does a great job keeping the filling from bunching up or becoming uneven.
When used together, the Cozy Earth Bamboo Viscose Comforter and Cozy Earth Bamboo Viscose Duvet Cover offer a really nice, albeit expensive pairing. But after a few nights, you’ll likely discover (like I did) that the viscose material is more comfortable than a cotton duvet.
While not as fluffy, the thickness of the comforter itself provides the right amount of warmth and moisture-wicking to keep human bodies at a comfortable temperature throughout the night, regardless of the season. For extra warmth, choose the slightly more expensive “Extra” filling option when purchasing the comforter online.
My Final Thoughts: Is the Cozy Earth Bamboo Comforter and Duvet Cover Worth It?
Another thing I really like about the Cozy Earth duvet cover is that it comes in 13 solid colors and five pattern options, all of which offer a timeless appearance. This allows the duvet cover to be nicely color coordinated with Cozy Earth’s other bedding products (like the bamboo sheets and blankets). Even if you don’t have a flair for interior design, you can make your bedroom look fancy, and color coordinate the bedding with the room’s other decor with ease.
Yes, the Cozy Earth bamboo comforter and duvet cover combo (which are sold separately) are expensive. But what you’re paying for is quality and bedding that’s designed to last for many years.
