When it comes to being a techie, I’m more enthused about using my electronics than the gadgets required to charge them. But as a writer, I often work while I’m traveling. That means taking along my cumbersome charger to keep my computer running, and honestly, that big ‘ole block leaves a lot to be desired.
So, when I got word about the EZQuest UltraSlim Wall Charger, I happily agreed to test it out and the experience was amazingly positive.

Let’s Talk Size
One of the main selling points is in the name of this little gadget: Slim. It’s way smaller than an iPhone and not much thicker.
The low-profile styling makes it easy to slip in spaces behind furniture without a lot of jockeying to get it in place. The design also keeps it in place more easily than, for example, a standard Apple adapter like the one I’ve been using, which tends to fall out of the socket when it’s plugged directly into the wall due to the weight.
This charger’s size — a mere 3.25” x 1.75” — and rectangular shape also make it easy to slip into a pocket, handbag, backpack, or briefcase without taking up much space at all. That makes it super for travel, as I’ve noted, but for everyday use as well. It also has two ports so you can charge more than one device at a time.
Is It Powerful Enough?
A thing I was skeptical about is the actual power this little charger would put out.
One of the first things I did out of the box, with the help of my husband (who is much more tech-minded than I am), was using a ChargerLAB Power-Z cable to test the wattage. The EZQuest UltraSlim Wall Charger advertises 70 watts, and it produced more than 72 watts. When charging a MacBook Pro, it takes a few seconds to ramp up but then remains constant above 70 watts.
Next, I wanted to make sure that it would charge an iPhone 17 Pro Max adequately, since phones are often the main devices people want to keep powered on the go. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to charge from 5% to 95%, so quite respectable. The box specs list Samsung, Sony, and other brands of phones as compatible as well.
I also kept tabs on how hot it got since it also advertises gallium nitride technology, and it got warm but not hot — another pleasant surprise. The company also touts built-in protection against power surges and fluctuations so that offers some safety for pricey electronics while they’re charging. I like the fact that it has an 18 month warranty, too.
No testing was done with tablets, but the box specs indicate that iPads are compatible with this nifty charger, and it will require USB-C to Lightning cables for models older than 2018.

The Drawbacks
I’m happy to report that there aren’t many negatives I could find using this little charger. It doesn’t include a cable, but most chargers don’t these days. If there’s any real drawback, it would be that the power is split in half between the two ports if you are charging two devices.
That means it will take longer to charge two in comparison to plugging in just one device at a time. That’s not really any different than any other type of charger with multiple ports, however, so just an observation more than a true negative comment.

Pricing
Given that the EZQuest UltraSlim Wall Charger exceeded my expectations when it comes to a space-saving charger, the list price of $49.99 doesn’t seem outrageous. However, I found it on Amazon.com for only $24.99 making it a real bargain if you shop there. This is especially true when comparing it to an Apple 70W adapter typically retailing at $59.

In My Expert Opinion
This charger is just the right size for on-the-go carrying and it works even better than specs indicate. I can expect it to charge my phone in a reasonable amount of time or sufficiently power my computer while I’m using it.
For me, that’s enough of an incentive to buy an additional one for my husband or get one as a gift for a friend or family member who travels quite a bit. It’s also the perfect wall charger for home use to fit behind a night table or other furniture. With that in mind, I’d also consider buying one for someone moving into their first apartment or downsizing.
