I’ve been on a low carb/keto-style diet since 2017. In almost ten years of choosing this way of eating, I’ve tried hundreds of low-sugar, low-carb items that truthfully aren’t worth the money (until I found GOOD GOOD Jam).

Finding substitutes for foods that are traditionally high in sugar, like jam or jelly, isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Many times, the flavor, texture and taste just falls short. In these cases, I realize it’s better not to try to recreate high carb foods and easier just to stick with low carb foods that are worth eating.

In the realm of jams and jelly, many low-carb, low-sugar, or sugar-free products contain sugar alcohols that make the product sweet but often lead to stomach upset. Products that contain mannitol, xylitol, and other similar sugar substitutes have left me uncomfortable. Again, not worth it just to have a piece of “toast” with jelly. If you’ve felt this way before, I’m here to put you onto a new product that changes the game in this space: GOOD GOOD Jam.

Natural Ingredients in GOOD GOOD Keto-Friendly Jam

GOOD GOOD Keto Jelly

There are a lot of low-sugar and sugar-free/keto-style jams and jelly products on the market. But many “big names” like Smucker’s have added ingredients in their products that I don’t feel good about eating. Even beyond the artifical sweeteners themselves, many of these products contain additives like maltodextrin that cause a spike in blood glucose.

For this reason, GOOD GOOD Jam totally changes the game (especially for diabetics). Each of their products are sweetened with natural sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit which do not cause stomach upset and are very low glycemic.

You can actually spread a serving of this over your (low-carb) bread and not have to worry about your stomach hurting for the rest of the day. As someone with a very sensitive stomach and many food sensitivities, having something I can go to for a “touch of sweetness” without this stress is a huge game-changer. I pair this GOOD GOOD Jam with a slice of toasted Base Culture Sourdough bread for a healthy treat.

Specifications

  • Size: 12 ounces.
  • Item weight: 330 grams.
  • Uses: Baking, on toast, pastries, etc.

Consistency and Texture

When you put these jams on a slice of toast, it spreads just like normal jam. This means you can use it to make a low-sugar PB&J sandwich without that runny, odd texture I’ve found in other products. Some of the GOOD GOOD Keto-friendly jam products have a slightly more chunky texture, but all mimic the actual texture of the real thing.

Pros

  • Huge flavor assortment.
  • Consistency and texture of real jam/jelly.
  • Less calories and sugar than traditional jam.
  • No artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols.
  • Sweetened naturally.
  • Low glycemic and gluten free.

Cons

  • Not carried in every traditional grocery store.
  • Higher price than regular jam.

Flavor Selection

Good Good Jelly

The most amazing part of GOOD GOOD Keto-Friendly Jam is the sheer number of flavors and varieties they have to choose from. Most sugar-free jams and jelly only come in a few basic flavors, like strawberry or grape. These products have a large number of flavors available, making it fun to try them all and find your favorites. For those looking to adopt a low-sugar diet (or those forced to due to health conditions), these make life fun again.

From classic berry flavors like blueberry to more unique flavors like lemon curd and peach jam, you can surely find a favorite as you look through all of the selections. Personally, the flavors I thought would be my favorites ended up being my least favorites. However, every single one is good (one could say GOOD GOOD) — I just prefer some flavors over others. Currently, my favorite flavors are the Apple Butter, Pumpkin Butter, and Apricot. I’m looking forward to trying the orange marmalade next.

For me, the pumpkin butter and apple butter flavors give me a little taste of fall all year-round. Paired with a slight bit of regular butter on a slice of toast, these are surely “GOOD GOOD”. If you haven’t tried any of these jams yet, I urge you to give several flavors a try to narrow down your personal taste preference.

In My Expert Opinion

Good Good keto-friendly Jam

If other low-sugar products have failed you in the past, give these GOOD GOOD Keto-Friendly Jams a try. Of all the products I’ve tried, they truly feel like one I will continue to keep buying as a real substitute for the real thing.

Even for those who are not on a keto diet or diabetic-friendly diet, these jams can help you reduce sugar in your everyday diet. I also think these jams would be GREAT for kids (I’m not sure they could tell the difference!)
