Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Review

So lightweight and airy that I forget it’s on.

As a skincare junkie, I was on the search for the perfect daily moisturizer. Something I could apply every morning without worrying about redness and irritation. About two years ago, I was at Target and decided to give the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Moisturizer. In all honesty, I didn’t have high hopes as I’ve used Neutrogena products in the past and wasn’t impressed.

However, once I actually applied the moisturiser, I was hooked. Not only was it light and airy, it made my makeup look like a million bucks. It also disguised some of my minor fine lines on my forehead (something other more expensive moisturizers failed to do). The Hydro Boost Gel Moisturizer has been a part of my morning routine for two years and I don’t plan on changing that any time soon.

Every now and then, I’ll try a fancier, more expensive moisturizer and always find myself returning back to the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Moisturizer. Note that I’ve tried the cream version of this product (the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Cream) and it simply wasn’t the same.

It was thicker and didn’t make my skin look “supple” and “rested,” which is particularly important to me in my current stage of life as a full-time working mama with a 2-year old and 4-year old. Of course, everyone is different and it doesn’t hurt to try both but the Hydro Boost Gel Moisturizer is definitely my go-to.

When it comes to price, I can’t complain. It’s under $20 and lasts me a few months. The pretty light blue color is just an added bonus. Plus, I can find it at any local drugstore or grocery store so running out is no big deal.
