That—just that. I apply the Kind Words Lip Liner at 6 p.m. and know it will stay on far through midnight, lasting through sips of drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres. It glides on my lips easily, looks natural enough without seeming fake, and blends well with any lip gloss or lipstick I add over it. I rarely, if ever, have to reapply, and if I do, it’s usually a small corner of my lips.
The Color Options Are Great
The first time I came across Kind Words, I was shocked by how natural some of the colors looked. You can shop Kind Words in 11 different shades, making it easy to find one that blends seamlessly with the tone of your lips. Humble (a rosy-mauve shade) works best for me, and I often top it with a simple layer of gloss (no lipstick) for a natural, plump lip look.

I Don’t Have To Worry About Sharpening it
Most lip liners, at least the traditional ones, need to be sharpened (like a pencil). This one has a built-in sharpener, so all you need to do is turn the knob at the bottom to reveal more of the color stick. As someone who cannot (yes, constantly—don’t judge) keep track of her lip pencil sharpeners, it’s a boon to own a lip pencil that doesn’t require one.
My Lips Never Feel Dry
Now, whether it’s winter or summer, I suffer from dry lips. It’s annoying, but it also means that some lipsticks or lip products just don’t work for me. The Kind Words matte lip liner’s lightweight formula feels soft against my skin, and while it’s no lip balm texture, it’s not thick or clumpy either. It glides on smoothly and stays there until I wipe it off at the end of the night.
Verdict
For a beauty product that both looks good and feels good, the Kind Words Lip Liner wins every time. It’s got a built-in sharpener, works well for sensitive skin, and comes in a whole host of colors—helping to make your lips look plump and natural. My only qualm? I wish the container were bigger—I run out of these every few months when I use them daily. That said, at its $16 price point, it’s well worth the investment and the perfect addition to a girl’s makeup arsenal. Yes, it runs out quickly with daily use, but given its affordable price, it’s worth stocking up on a few.
