Over the past couple of years, I’ve been slowly bringing in products with naturally-derived ingredients or elements into my life. This encompasses everything from beauty products to floor care, and it’s not an easy task. Several years ago (probably around five), I tried out Norwex’s mop system. I still use it, but the mop pads have become gross and likely need to be replaced. Their PR agency offered to send me an updated mop system in February of 2025.

The mop system includes the mopping handle, mop head, and two mop pads. To assemble the mop, I simply had to pop the handle onto the mop head until it clicked — pretty easy. The two mop pads attach to the mop head with Velcro, so it’s all super easy to assemble and disassemble.

A twist of the handle will let you adjust the height, then twist the opposite way to lock in the position. I adjusted the mop handle to a comfortable height for me, and it ranges from 38.58 inches to 62.99 inches tall.
Multipurpose Mopping
Both mop heads have a tag labeling which is to be used wet and which is to be used dry. Think of the dry mop head a bit like a dry Swiffer, only this pad is cushy and huge — about 20 inches across and almost 6 inches wide. It’ll pick up dust and pet hair, which we have plenty of around my home. It’s statically charged and made of microfiber, so it’s designed to attract all those little bits of debris and dirt. I have found I have to pick up the dry mop and set it directly on a fur ball occasionally, but that usually just applies to those extra large fur balls.
The other mop pad is meant to clean the floor with just water. I simply run the wet pad under the faucet until the pad is dampened but not sopping wet, then attach it to the mop head.
Special Detergent Is “Required”
Norwex claims the microfiber pad removes up to 99% of bacteria “when following proper care and use instructions.” Those instructions include using Norwex’s own detergent, which I don’t have. I know you’re not supposed to use dryer sheets with these pads, and I don’t (we don’t use dryer sheets anymore, period). I haven’t washed these pads yet, but I have washed my old ones with regular old Tide detergent.
The old pads aren’t picking up dirt like they used to, but they’re also quite worn. The new ones seem to leave the floors cleaner than I found them. The wet mop pad has an antimicrobial (BacLock), too.
The pads are also certified to be free from several potentially harmful substances by OEKO-TEX, which is great. The $146 price for the mop system feels pricey to me, but I have purchased my own in the past. It seems worth it based on how long I’ve been able to use my old set, despite not using Norwex’s recommended detergent when cleaning it.

A Great Way to Clean
If you’re trying to use more “natural” cleaning products in your home, investing in the Norwex mop system makes sense. It’s easy to use and the wet and dry mop heads mean you can clean your floors as well as your walls. You’ll also save money because you don’t need to buy a cleaning solution. All in all, given that I’ve used my first mop system for several years, the price ends up being worth the investment.
