Back in 2022, I received a pair of Kizik’s Prague sneakers as a sample from their PR rep. As it happened, the shoes arrived just in time for my plane trip to Texas. When I first tried them on, I was quite skeptical that they’d be comfortable. But I loved them so much that I bought a second pair three years later.

At First, I Was Skeptical
My skepticism started with the available sizing. Depending on the shoe, I’m somewhere around a women’s size 5. The Prague, a unisex shoe, starts with women’s size 6 (which is 4.5 men’s). I kind of figured they’d be huge on me.
To my surprise, they fit quite nicely. I ended up with a bit more room in the toe area, which has worked out well for my feet. In fact, the brand notes they’re designed to provide a “roomy fit.”
Once I tried them on, I really didn’t feel any arch support, so I held on to my initial skepticism. But I was soon scheduled to fly away to Texas for my first-ever solo vacation and needed a decent pair of walking shoes that I could easily take on and off in the airport security lines. I figured I’d give them a try.
They Made the TSA Experience Less Awkward
I was a bit hesitant that these would keep my feet comfy as I hiked through the airport, but to my surprise, my feet were quite comfortable. And I don’t know about you, but my anxiety spikes when I’m trying to prepare myself and all my stuff to go through the TSA line. (I mean, I do not want to be that person who holds up the line and gets yelled at!)
These sneakers are designed to be hands-free, with a heel that bends, then pops back up as you slip your foot in. To my delight, I found I could easily wiggle my feet back into my shoes as I reorganized my bag once I got through security.
Since that initial trip, these have become my airport shoes. And after three years, they understandably got a little ratty looking. So this year, I ordered a new pair in the exact same size and style. Unfortunately, the new pair isn’t quite as amazing as that very first pair.
My Second Pair May Take Some Time to Love
They’re still an easy on, easy off shoe that I wear to the airport. But the new pair just doesn’t feel the same as the old pair. Part of that, of course, is how worn-in my old pair is. It could also be that I just haven’t hit upon the best positioning of the laces.
They’re functional laces so you can adjust the tightness of the shoe, but once you’ve nailed that you can just leave them tied. And I wore them while on a trip to Washington, D.C., which involved somewhere between 10,000 and 18,000 (or more) steps a day, which is quite a bit for this writer.
So, while the newest pair isn’t quite on par with my first pair, it’s entirely possible that I just need to give it a little more time. The shoe itself looks to be the same, with leather, suede, and polyester materials. I went with the black and white pair both times, but three other neutral-toned combinations are available as well.

Still Worth It
Because I loved my first pair so much, I’m not giving up on my second pair of Kiziks just yet. The black and white combo is classic and I’ve worn it with everything from jeans to dresses. Plus, these shoes make the TSA line a breeze. I’m still designating these as my airport shoes, and I’ll definitely be wearing them during walks on my upcoming travels.
