Ok, so I’m 45. There are a million, zillion beauty products out there that boast better skin. Plumper! Brighter! Less wrinkly! What drew me toward the Everlast Eye Patches from Apres were that they were reusable and technically didn’t have any skincare in them at all: They’re just silicone. And yet they are supposed to de-puff and refresh under-eyes? I was curious, so I had to try.

Under-eye Patches Are Self-Care
There’s something relaxing about putting on a face mask or eye patches. Call it self-care, call it pampering. It’s nice to put something on that’s beneficial and then be forced to stay put. I’m not going anywhere with these babies on — and that’s ok. Brew some tea and relax for 20 minutes blissfully alone.

The Application
Putting them on felt … nice. The silicone was thin, pliable and stuck right to my face. I liked the fact that I could slap these on, wear them, then rinse and reuse. They come in a really cute little tin box to store them, and I like that little touch. They sat nicely on my skin and didn’t droop or fall off.
I made sure to take a before photo, so that I could document what 20 minutes with these eye patches on would look like. As you can see, my roots need a touch up, and I have no makeup on. This is just a whole lot of face, sorry for the close-up, but it’s necessary! I don’t exactly have eye bags but the area could use some brightening or sprucing!
I kept the patches on for about twenty-five minutes. Now, Apres does say that these can be used alone OR with your own skincare underneath. When I wake up, I throw on Vitamin C for brightness and a moisturizer, but that was a few hours ago. I didn’t put on an eye cream because I wanted to see exactly what silicone patches would do on my skin without any other kind of factor to throw off results. And here are the results.
Cue the sad trombone sound, or a “womp womp.” I see no difference, do you? Touching my skin, it feels slightly moist, but that might be sweat because it’s been covered in silicone for twenty minutes.
No plumpness, brightness, de-puffing or refreshment to be had (aside from the tea I drank). As much as I wanted to see a difference, sadly I saw none. Perhaps at some point I’ll throw some eye cream underneath if I want to have a Self Care Saturday, but until then, I think my eye patches will likely just sit in their pretty pink tin.

My final assessment: These don’t work. They may look cute, they may make you feel like you’re doing something for your skin, but ultimately (as I sort of expected), silicone alone won’t move the needle. Best of luck with actual ingredients, I guess!
