I have really long hair, but that doesn’t mean it’s cooperative.
While many days I choose to air-dry it because I have several jobs and four children and don’t have the bandwidth to spend 20 minutes with my Dyson, I do like to style my hair at least once a week.

Most blowout days, the only product I’ll apply after shampoo and conditioner (or a mask) is a heat-protectant because I don’t want to damage my long hair.
It’s hard to avoid split-ends at this length, and any leg up is something I’ll take. Turns out, it’s a heat protectant as well. Score!
I’ve never tried a blowout cream, but Emi Jay sent me their Angel Hold to try.
Spoiler alert: I love it.
First off, the smell is outrageously good. I’m a very sensory person, and I’m a fragrance nerd, so it has to hold up to some of my favorite scents.
Currently only Ouai hair products have a smell that would cause me to repeatedly hold the bottle to my face and sniff.
Emi Jay Angel Hold blowout cream smells AMAZING. It’s a clean, floral scent that was uplifting and elegant without being overpowering, with notes of amber and musk. I found myself sniffing my hair throughout the day, which is a good sign.

But does it work? Absolutely.
Due to the massive amount of growth I’ve had from Simi Hero Hair Oil, I have a lot of shorter hairs on the top to middle of my head, and those often stick up. This product really helped keep them down, or, at least, keep them more tame than usual.

It gave me a sleek, smooth final look that makes me want to reach for this product whenever I style my hair. A resounding YES to this product!
It’s not crunchy/crispy, and it claims to define curls, so next time I may just see what happens when I put it in on an air-dry day!
