I get compliments non-stop whenever I wear Glossier You. Honestly, so does everyone else I know who puts on the fragrance. Ever since its launch in 2017, the fragrance has become synonymous with addictive “skin” scents. Essentially, it has the warm and intimate smell of skin, enhanced by the wearer’s pheromones, in addition to notes of musk, iris, and pink pepper.
Since the original launched, three flanker fragrances have been released – Glossier You Doux, Glossier You Reve, and most recently, Glossier You Fleur. Doux and Reve were met with lukewarm but mostly positive reviews. Fleur, however, is breaking the mold with its overwhelmingly enthusiastic reviews.

The Wow Factor
The moment influencers began to get a whiff of Fleur, the fragrance world stopped and took notice. According to many, this was the stuff — this was the viral, almost manic quality that the original You had once provoked among fragrance fans. Many dubbed Fleur the OG You’s “Cool, Grown Up Big Sister”, saying that it took what made You iconic in the first place, and added levels of sophistication that were positively addictive and sensual. According to the company, You Fleur smells of mineral salt accord, osmanthus, ylang-ylang, apricot skin and cashmeran. These notes are blended with the original You’s musky ambrox. I had to try it for myself.
My Experience
Honestly, at first whiff, I thought it smelled gourmand. The initial notes felt sweet and sugary, and quickly dried town to a powdery scent. Yes, it was floral, but for me, it just didn’t have that lovely “skin” scent that the ambrox in the formulation hinted at. Then again, You scents are designed to smell different depending on your own chemical makeup. I guess, it wasn’t Fleur that smelled mediocre…it was me? Regardless, as much as I wanted to love this scent, it just didn’t deliver on the promise of the premise, which was “You…but make it flowery”. I think it was subtle, and truthfully the scent faded within two hours of wearing. It was pretty when I first put it on, but nothing that reminded me throughout the day that I was wearing it.
The Pros
- Not very expensive – spend between $32 – $78, which is a lot less than other perfumes in this category.
- Light and summery – very good choice for spring and summer, light and airy.
The Cons
- Short-lived.
- Subtle.
- Didn’t blow my mind.
- Didn’t smell like the original You.
Glossier You Fleur comes in 8 ml for $32 and 50 ml for $78.
The Verdict
If you want a long-lasting Skin Plus Floral scent, I recommend Diptique’s “Fleur de Peau”, which really hits that sweet spot. It’s on the pricey side, retailing at $240. If you’d like something light and inexpensive that may smell better on you than on me, by all means, try out You Fleur.
