As a style writer who has been featured in Vogue a number of times, I can safely say that I know what trends are staying and which are going.
If you’ve been considering getting a faux fur coat, it’s a solid investment because it’s a trend that’s not going anywhere. And after trying these three coats, I wouldn’t go anywhere other than Hello Molly.

I was lucky enough to get to try not one, but three of Hello Molly’s gorgeous coats for this review. I have worn each multiple times, and when I say I get stopped by strangers (especially in the South Pole style), it’s true. These coats are warm, gorgeous, and they’re compliment magnets.

So Many Styles
This one makes you look like a grizzly in the best of ways. It’s thick, plush, has an oversized silhouette and brings PURE DRAMA. I have a friend who is a runway model, and he was shocked to hear this wasn’t real fur.
It’s really soft, very warm, and when I attended Vogue’s “Wuthering Heights” event in eight degree NYC weather, it kept me warm and chic.
And when you attend a Vogue event, you have to bring the style. All my friends raved about this coat, which was validating.
I also got the opportunity to try out the Winter Wonderland style.

It’s thinner, and has a wrap feature and a hood. The cream one had more of a matte fur, with no shine, but the black one was very velvety and had a nice shimmer to it.
I wore the black one out to dinner on my birthday and again, it was a compliment magnet.
The white one, as much as I love it, did give a bit of a “bathrobe” look when you used the belt and tied it, so I wore this one open.
Not that a bathrobe look is bad! I recently wrote an article about how “pajama dressing” is an up and coming trend. But I really wanted the drama of the coat to stand on its own, which is why I styled it with the hood down and the sash tied back.
It’s worth noting that my daughter and her elementary school friends pet my arm all night and one sincerely told me “you’re like a beautiful puppy,” and I’m not sure I’ll ever get over it.
For the price, I’d say you can’t beat it. These are super high quality coats, and paying $150 for something that looks so luxe is a no-brainer. What’s also nice is although these coats are very luxurious, they can be dressed both up and down.

Cons
- Very different textures on the Winter Wonderland coats.
- Clasp on South Pole is hard to close.
I think a fun look for the big, brown South Pole coat would be jeans, a tee, and sneakers for a high-low blend. Conversely, because the Winter Wonderland coat is a hooded wrap that closes, you can easily use it to make a look more casual. They’re really versatile, and can add some textural interest to your wardrobe.
All three coats are showstoppers. The combination of luxe texture, dramatic silhouettes and the momentum of the fur coat trend really make an impression. I would recommend all three of these coats, and I fully plan on keeping Hello Molly attire in my wardrobe in heavy rotation!
